Marshall’s Stack Mode is Awkward

Marshall Willen & Emberton II together

I’ll start off by saying I applaud Marshall Headphones for creating some type of stereo pairing system for it’s portable speakers. However, it’s really not all it’s cut out to be. Recently, I had a subscriber ask about pairing issues with the willen and emberton II so I decided to check out if I could replicate their issue.

Marshall Stack Mode Question

The instructions to pair are simple enough, to create a source speaker you hit the bluetooth button 3 times, and the slave speaker gets 2 times. In practice this didn’t really work out, I ended up disconnecting my speakers from my phone’s bluetooth, accidentally connecting my Alexa Smart Speaker, and just in general tapping the speaker pairing in and out of phase with the other on accident. Check on the video to see more.

How to connect Stack Mode

Don’t get me wrong, i’m glad these two 5.1 bluetooth devices have a pairing mode. With the advent of new bluetooth standards coming out, anything before 5.2 protocol will be left out in the cold when (and if) the SIG (Bluetooth Special Interest Group) get’s their standard adopted.

But beyond the “stack mode”, these are still incredible portable speakers with great sound, durability, and battery life.
